PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots and the California Baptist Lancers played to a 1-1 draw Saturday at Merlo Field. Portland moved to 5-2-3 overall after the draw.
The Pilots scored on an own goal from the Lancers while the Lancers scored on a goal from Rilee Harmon. Bre Norris had six saves in goal for Portland.
How it Happened
Portland broke the 0-0 tie when Brooke Miller sent a corner kick into the box that was knocked in for an own goal. The goal made it 1-0 Portland.
The Lancers leveled the game on a goal from Rilee Harmon in the 57th minute, assisted by Lauryn White and Sophia Petrov. It was back and forth the rest of the half, with neither team gaining a clear edge. The game would end at 1-1.
Game Notes
- Bre Norris piled up six saves for the Pilots out of 11 total Lancers shots. That matches a season high for Norris.
- Norris now sits at 233 career saves. She is just seven away from moving to a tie for third all-time for the Pilots.
- The Pilots have allowed just six goals through 10 games.
- Portland's 24 goals through 10 games is the most they've had through that many games since 2009.
