Megan Rapinoe and Pooh Jeter highlight nine-member class scheduled for induction on September 27
PORTLAND, Ore. – The University of Portland has announced its nine-member 2024 Hall of Fame class of inductees who will officially be celebrated at a
campus ceremony at the Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center on Friday, Sept. 27. The 2024 class includes:
Lucia Butkovska (women's tennis),
Kory Casto (baseball),
Michelle Enyeart (women's soccer),
Pooh Jeter (men's basketball),
David Kinsella (men's track/cross country),
Tansey Lystad Hensley (women's track/cross country),
Megan Rapinoe (women's soccer),
Angie Woznuk Kerr (women's soccer) and
Dr. Robert Duff (meritorious).
The
University of Portland Athletic Hall of Fame was instituted in 1991 and will now include 131 members with this class. Inductions typically happen every two years.
The evening begins with the nine inductees being recognized at halftime of the
men's soccer match versus Sacramento State, set for a 5 p.m. kickoff. Doors will open at the Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center at 6:30 p.m. with heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks available throughout the night. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. with Ann Schatz serving as the Master of Ceremonies.
Tickets to the event must be purchased in advance. Reserved seating is only available for those that purchase tables, which provides 10 tickets for $1,000. Individual standing room only tickets are available for $75. Tickets can be purchased online at

Here is a detailed look at the 2024 UP Athletics Hall of Fame inductees:
Lucia Butkovska – Women's Tennis – 2013-16
Butkovska finished her career with the best singles winning percentage in program history (.818), the top individual singles win, was one of just two players to garner multiple All-West Coast Conference First Team singles honors and led the Pilots to the team's first national ranking during her time on The Bluff despite playing just two seasons.
The Bratislava, Slovakia native graduated in three seasons while earning Dean's List recognition each semester and WCC All-Academic honors every year. She posted a 45-10 overall singles record, including 31-5 mark in dual singles action. Her win against then-No. 2 ranked Luisa Stefani of Pepperdine is the program's only Top 10 singles win. She was nationally ranked in both of her competitive seasons – reaching as high as No. 60 each year – and finished No. 103 in 2015 and No. 68 in 2016. Butkovska helped the 2015 women's tennis team crack the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Team Rankings with a high of No. 48 before finishing the year at No. 63. She also led the 2015 Pilots to the best team win in program history (No. 33 Saint Mary's), the program's first victory over Oregon, the top WCC regular season finish (2nd in 2015) and Portland's first appearance in the WCC Tournament Finals.
Kory Casto – Baseball – 2001-03
One of the top hitters in Portland baseball history, Casto was an honorable mention Freshman All-American, two-time All-WCC honoree and named to the WCC 40th Anniversary Team in 2007. He still ranks in the Top 10 on Portland's all-time lists in numerous single season and career categories. A .317 career hitter, Casto had a .526 slugging percentage which is eighth all-time at Portland and the best of any Pilot since 1992. He is third all-time with 30 home runs, fourth with 141 runs batted in, and ninth in total bases (330). His 2003 season goes down as one of the best ever when he batted .338 with a .637 slugging percentage. He belted 14 homers, 19 doubles, drove in 57 runs, had 130 total bases and 38 walks, which all crack the single season Top 10 list. His five walks against San Diego also tied the single game school record.
Casto was drafted in the third round of the 2003 MLB Draft by the then-Montreal Expos and made his major league debut with the Washington Nationals in 2007. He played eight total seasons of professional baseball and was twice named the Nationals Minor League Player of the Year.
Michelle Enyeart – Women's Soccer – 2006-10
Enyeart led the Pilots to four straight NCAA Quarterfinals appearances, three West Coast Conference titles and a 76-12-3 overall record during her four seasons at Portland. She garnered All-America First Team honors as a senior in 2009 in addition to being named the WCC Player of the Year. Enyeart was an All-West Region selection each of her four seasons and garnered WCC Freshman of the Year and Soccer Buzz Freshman All-America honors in 2006. She is one of 12 Pilots to earn three All-WCC First Team citations (2006, 2007, 2009) and was a second team selection in 2008.
The speedy forward litters the UP record books after finishing her career with 48 goals and 40 assists, good for fifth and fourth all-time, respectively. Her 136 total points are fifth all-time, trailing only Christine Sinclair, Tiffeny Milbrett, Shannon Mac Millan and Danielle Foxhoven. She also ranks fifth all-time with 18 game-winning goals, while her 15 assists in 2007 are second best on the UP single season charts. In addition to her on-field accolades, Enyeart earned NSCAA Scholar All-America awards in 2008 and 2009 and was named to the WCC All-Academic Team three times.
Enyeart represented the United States on various Youth National Teams including the 2008 Under-20 squad that won the FIFA World Cup. She also represented the U.S. at the 2007 Pan-American Games and was a member of the Under-23 National Team in 2009.
Eugene "Pooh" Jeter – Men's Basketball – 2003-06
One of the most beloved players to grace the Chiles Center court, Jeter ranks No. 2 all-time on the Portland scoring charts with 1,708 career points. He also ranks in the top five all-time in field goals made (550), three-pointers (200), free throws (408), free throw percentage (.846) and is eighth in total assists (346). Jeter's 536 total points as a senior rank sixth on the single season charts, while he owns three of the top 11 single season records for free throw percentage. Jeter garnered All-WCC First Team honors in 2004 and 2006 and was honorable mention all-league in 2005. He also led Portland to a 72-68 road upset against Gonzaga at the Kennel in 2003 with a team-high 18 points as a freshman.
Following his time on The Bluff, Jeter enjoyed a remarkable professional career that spanned 18 seasons. He played in six different countries, including one year with the NBA's Sacramento Kings where he appeared in 62 games during the 2010-11 season. Jeter began his overseas career in Ukraine, where he eventually earned dual citizenship and starred for the Ukrainian National Team in helping them qualify for the FIBA World Cup for the first time in 2013. Other pro highlights include earning All-Star recognition for the NBA D-League's Colorado 14ers in 2007, Sixth Man of the Year honors in the Israeli Super League in 2010, Chinese Basketball Association All-Star honors in 2013 and helping Limoges win the top division title in France in 2015. Following his retirement from pro basketball in 2023, Jeter joined the Portland Trail Blazers where he still serves as a player development coach and Assistant General Manager for the Rip City Remix.
David Kinsella – Men's Cross Country and Track – 2004-08
Kinsella has the most decorated cross country career in University of Portland's remarkable distance running history. He owns the program's top two individual finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, guided the Pilots to three Top 14 team finishes at nationals, was a three-time All-West Region selection and added an All-America award in outdoor track as well.
Kinsella's fourth-place individual finish at the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships still stands as a program record and helped Portland match its best team finish of seventh-place overall at the time. It capped an impressive season which featured him winning the WCC individual title by a remarkable 50 seconds as well as individual victories at the Bill Dellinger Invitational and West Coast Preview. His 2007 season was nearly as impressive with an eighth-place finish at nationals and runner-up showing at regionals. As a redshirt freshman in 2005, Kinsella placed 12th at regionals and was Portland's No. 2 finisher at the NCAA Championships as the team placed ninth overall.
Kinsella earned All-America honors in the 10,000-meter race at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a 12th-place finish. He was named the University of Portland Male Student-Athlete of the Year in both 2007 and 2009 and capped his career by receiving the 2009 WCC Postgraduate Scholarship.
Tansey Lystad Hensley – Women's Cross Country and Track – 2012-15
Lystad Hensley is one of just five Portland women to have earned All-America honors in both cross country and track and field during her career on The Bluff. She recorded the best performance of any UP runner at the NCAA Women's Cross Country Championships by finishing 15th overall to garner All-America honors in 2015. She was an individual qualifier for nationals by placing sixth at the NCAA West Regional, which matched the program's best individual regional finish at the time. Lystad Hensley also won the 2014 West Coast Conference Cross Country Championship as an individual and was a two-time first team All-WCC selection.
Lystad Hensley earned second team All-America honors in the 5,000-meter run at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships, becoming the first UP woman to earn indoor All-America recognition. Her 5K indoor PR of 15:51.12 is still No. 2 all-time. She followed with honorable mention All-America honors at the 2015 NCAA's in the outdoor 5,000-meter run and still owns the top time all-time at Portland (15:42.22). Lystad Hensley also has the 2,000-meter Steeplechase school record (6:54.10) and is No. 8 in the 3,000-meters (9:46.30).
The 2015 University of Portland Female Student-Athlete of the Year, Lystad Hensley completed her collegiate eligibility with a graduate season at Boise State before embarking on a successful post-collegiate running career where she continued to establish personal best results on the track and in competitive road races through 2021.
Megan Rapinoe – Women's Soccer – 2005-08
Rapinoe is already in the University of Portland Athletic Hall of Fame, joining as a member of the undefeated 2005 National Championship-winning squad which was inducted in 2016. Now she joins the hall as an individual in recognition of her historic college and international career. Despite missing nearly two full collegiate seasons due to injury, Rapinoe made her mark by joining all-time greats Tiffeny Milbrett and Shannon Mac Millan as the only Pilots to score 25 goals and 15 assists in their first two seasons on The Bluff. She capped her college career with 30 goals and 28 assists in just 50 games played.
Rapinoe was named the 2005 Soccer Times National Freshman of the Year, NSCAA First Team All-America, unanimous First Team Freshman All-American, WCC Freshman of the Year and member of the NCAA All-Tournament Team in capping one of the best debut campaigns in program history. She had 15 goals and 13 assists for the fifth best freshman point total all-time. Rapinoe bookended her career around a pair of season-ending knee injuries in 2006 and 2007 by garnering First Team All-America honors and WCC Player of Year recognition as a senior in 2008. She was also a three-time NSCAA All-West Region pick and the 2009 University of Portland Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
Rapinoe was a regular on U.S. Youth National Teams and exploded on the world stage during an 18-year career with the U.S. Women's National Team that was highlighted by claiming the 2019 Ballon d'Or and Best FIFA Women's Player in the world awards. She led the U.S. to Gold Medals at the 2012 Olympics as well as the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Rapinoe was the Golden Boot and Golden Ball winner at the 2019 World Cup. She retired from professional and International soccer in 2023 after scoring 68 career goals in the NWSL and 63 goals for the USWNT.
Angie Woznuk Kerr – Women's Soccer – 2003-07
Another member of the 2005 NCAA Championship team, Woznuk Kerr made her mark in Portland lore by scoring the game-winning goal and adding two assists in Portland's 4-0 win in the title match against UCLA. A three-time All-American and four-time All-WCC honoree. She is one of 12 Pilots to earn three All-WCC First Team citations (2005, 2006, 2007) and was a second team selection in 2003. Woznuk Kerr concluded her career with 19 goals and 34 assists. Her 13 assists in 2006 are tied for seventh in single-season school history, while she ranks No. 7 all-time for career assists.
She was a unanimous All-America honoree as a senior, garnered third team All-America recognition from the NSCAA in 2005 and a second team citation from Soccer Buzz in 2006. Woznuk Kerr was three times named to the All-West Region First Team, was the 2007 WCC Player of the Year and a finalist for the 2007 Lowe's Senior Class Award. She helped Portland reach a pair of NCAA Quarterfinals in 2006 and 2007 and the Pilots had an overall record of 76-11-7 in her four years on the field.
Woznuk Kerr had a decorated career on the international stage as well, helping the U.S. Under-19 National Team to a third-place finish at the 2004 FIFA Women's World Cup. She won the tournament's Silver Ball Award and secured the Bronze Shoe with three goals scored. Woznuk Kerr represented the U.S. Senior National Team between 2005-09 making 10 appearances and scoring two goals. She also played five professional seasons in the WPS/NWSL.
Dr. Robert Duff – Meritorious Service
Dr. Duff has been an ardent supporter of University of Portland Athletics and student-athletes during his 47 years on The Bluff as a professor and as a fan since his retirement. He joined the University in 1972 and immediately was appointed to the institution's athletic committee, which he remained a part of until his retirement from full time teaching in 2016. He frequently served as the institutional committee chair while also performing duties as the University's Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) to the West Coast Conference and NCAA from 1992-2004.
