PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots had a strong showing at the Charlie Brown Invitational, taking first in all races they competed in on the day.
 
Portland competed in the pairs race as well as the eights and the fours on Saturday. The pairs started first, with the duo of Julia Kipilinger and Kylin Gahlmann taking first overall with a time of 13:48. Five Pilot boats competed in the pairs.
 
The eights race followed, with Portland's A boat taking first overall. With Molly Spraker as the stroke and Leahbelle Paladino at coxswain, the Pilots posted a time of 11:15.6. The Pilots followed that performance with a win in the fours race, with the boat coxswained by Emma Hanson with Madie Monteith as the stroke taking first against Pacific's boats with a time of 13:25.0.
 
The Pilots are back at it next weekend, racing at the Head of the American in Gold River, Calif. The race takes place on Saturday, Oct. 25. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
