SEATTLE, Wash. -- Portland Pilots Rowing partook in the Tail of the Lake at Lake Union in Seattle on Sunday. The Pilots mostly raced for time, competing just against Seattle U in the collegiate eights race.

The Pilots raced in the collegiate pairs, the collegiate fours and the collegiate eights on Sunday. Jo Patton and Rachel Hester, Portland's A boat on the day, took first with a time of 17:50.6. Portland's A boat for the fours race -- with Leahbelle Paladino as the coxswain and Averie Zealley as the stroke -- finished first in that race with a time of 16:56.1.

Seattle U was the lone other collegiate team the Pilots competed against, with all three of Portland's boats defeating the Redhawks. The Pilots' A boat with Leahbelle Paladino as the coxswain and Molly Spraker as the stroke, finished first with a time of 15:14.9.

Portland will be back in action on Sunday, Oct. 19 for the Head of Spokane, hosted by the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Stay tuned to PortlandPilots.com for more information.
