SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots fell to the San Diego Toreros in straight sets (18-25, 13-25, 15-25) Thursday on the road at Jenny Craig Pavilion. The loss dropped Portland's record to 8-7 overall and 3-1 in WCC action.
Lucia Busso finished with a team-high nine kills on the day with a hitting percentage of .273, pushing her past 500 blocks for her career. Portland got 10 digs from Tinoa Woodward-Hart to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots dropped a tough first set to the Toreros 25-18. They battled to keep it close most of the set, with the score at 15-14 San Diego. The Pilots couldn't get past the Toreros, falling in the first set.
SET 2 | Portland fell in the second set 25-13. Four of Busso's nine kills came in the second set, but it wasn't enough to overcome San Diego.
SET 3 | Portland couldn't prolong the match and lost in set three. San Diego took the lead early that Portland couldn't cut into, as the Pilots fell 25-15 to end the match.
