PEEK INTO THE PORT
- The Portland Pilots are coming off a tough week that saw them go 0-3, losing to the No. 18 USC Trojans, the Idaho State Bengals and the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine. They are now 2-4 on the season.
- The Pilots fell to the Trojans 78-51 at the Galen Center, with Lainey Spear's 11 points and six rebounds leading the way. It's the first time Spear's scored in double digits this season.
- Julia Dalan shined in the contest defensively, posting eight blocks on the day. That's the most by a true freshman in a single game in program history.
- Portland lost nail-biters to both the Bengals and the Wahine, losing 58-57 to Idaho State and 66-61 to Hawaii.
- The Pilots lead the WCC currently in steals per game (12.2), bench points per game (31.2), free throw percentage (77.5%) and turnovers forced per game (24.17). They are 22nd nationally in turnovers forced and 32nd nationally in bench points.
- Dalan has shown to already be among the nation's best shot blockers, sitting at 18 blocks on the year and three blocks per contest. That ranks second in the conference and ninth nationally.
- Among freshmen, Dalan ranks third nationally in total blocks.
- Dyani Ananiev currently ranks second in the conference in both steals (17) and steals per game (2.83). She's averaging 10.5 points per game and 3.7 rebounds as well while leading the Pilots in total points (63).
- Florence Dallow currently leads the Pilots in scoring average at 11.6 points per contest. Her 86.7% shooting from the free throw line ranks second in the conference as well.
- The Pilots had a historic season in 2024-25, finishing 31-5 overall and 17-3 in WCC play to win a share of the 2024-25 WCC Regular Season Title. It's their fourth title, either tournament or regular season, in six seasons.
- Their 31 wins were a program record and their 17 wins in WCC play were also a new high for the program.
- Last year, they made the WCC Championships final for the fourth time under head coach Michael Meek and also qualified for the WBIT for the first time in program history.
- In the WBIT, they beat the Stanford Cardinal and the Seton Hall Pirates on the road to advance to the quarterfinals before falling to Villanova Wildcats in that round. The wins were the first ever road playoff wins for the Pilots, the first win ever over Stanford and the first ever over a Big East squad.

- The Pilots return eight players from last year and add seven newcomers.
