SEATTLE, Wash. - Laura Pellicoro was named the MPSF female athlete of the week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. This is Pellicoro's second career weekly award in the last three weeks.
Pellicoro broke school record in the 800-meter with an NCAA No. 6-ranked time of 2:00.92 at day 2 of UW Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. Pellicoro's time placed second in the event of 53 entries and is nearly seven full seconds faster than the next best time in the MPSF this year.
The Pilots will head north to race at the MPSF Championships on Friday, Feb. 21 – Saturday, Feb. 22 at The Podium in Spokane, Wash. For more coverage, visit PortlandPilots.com.
