PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team completed a 4-3 comeback to beat the Seattle U Redhawks by a 4-3 margin Friday at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots improve to 2-3 overall, while the Redhawks fall to 0-5.

Portland opened the match with Sally Pethybridge and Alaia Rubio Perez cruising to a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, but the Redhawks won by 6-4 margins at No. 2 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point.

Singles was a battle as Pilot senior Aleksandra Dimitrijevic tied the scoring with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Lola Tavcar at No. 3 singles. The Redhawks jumped back in front following Lamija Avdic's three-set win at No. 1 and then Portland freshman Isabella Marquart made it 2-2 with a straight sets win over Natalia Michta at the No. 4 position.

Seattle U retook the lead when Liliya Dimova outlasted Rubio Perez 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 at No. 2 before Portland secured the team victory with clutch wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.

Sophomore Nadine Arbaizar Martinez defeated Daria Nazarenko 7-5, 6-4 to even the score and then freshman Maria Galatescu beat Larissa Teramura 6-2, 6-3 to seal the triumph.
