PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots fell to the Washington Huskies 11-6 at Joe Etzel Field in a back and forth contest.
Nolan Umlandt (0-1) took the loss on the mound for Portland (5-12). Trey Swygart started the ballgame and went five innings, surrendering three runs, two earned, on five hits, walking three and striking out two.
Four Pilots recorded multiple hits on the night, with Zach Toglia's three hits leading the way. Tyler Howard and Nolan Miller each went 2-for-3 while Brady Bean went 2-for-4 on the night.
How it Happened
Trailing 3-0, the Pilots first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Portland's offense started clicking and put up five runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Nolan Miller and another RBI single from Zach Toglia. The Pilots led 5-3.
The Huskies then rallied to score five runs and take an 8-5 lead before the Pilots got back on the board in the seventh. Toglia came across to score the lone run of the inning for Portland, which tightened the Huskies lead to 8-6. The Pilots were unable to get any closer, as Washington added three runs to their tally on the way to an 11-6 final.

» Toglia led the Pilots, compiling three hits in the ballgame. It's the most he's had in a game this season.
» Nolan Miller had a career day as well, batting 2-for-3 with two RBI's. They are the first official hits of his Pilot career.
» Portland's highest scoring inning was the fifth, when it pushed five runs across.
» Four Portland hitters had multiple base knocks in the ballgame.
» Portland left 11 runners stranded on base in the loss.
» Portland pitchers faced 47 Washington hitters in the game, allowing seven ground balls and 13 fly balls while striking out four.
» The Pilots drew six walks from Washington pitching.
