LOWELL, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots competed at the Dexter Invite on Saturday against the Oregon State Beavers and Gonzaga Bulldogs, two of the top teams in the country.

The Pilots had five boats compete on the day, with the second varsity four and first varsity starting things off. The second varsity four finished third at 8:32.36 with Megan Holland and Isabella Honig as coxswain and stroke respectively. The first varsity four finished in 8:08.31 with Gaby Twitchell as the stroke and Clarissa Gutierrez as the coxswain.

The varsity eight boats were next, with the second varsity eight getting things started with a time of 7:11.32. Mina Mihailojvic was the stroke while Natalie Petty was the coxswain. The first varsity eight for Portland, with Leahbelle Paladino as the coxswain and Kate Feustel as the stroke, finished in under seven minutes for the second race in a row at 6:57.39. The final boat for Portland was the third varsity eight, who took fourth at 8:04.40 with Bella Valenzuela as the coxswain and Megan Eckles as the stroke.
