SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference announced on Tuesday the 2024-25 All-Conference Honors, with three Portland Pilots Women's Basketball players earning All-WCC First Team honors: Maisie Burnham, Alexis Mark and Emme Shearer. It's the first time that Burnham and Mark have made the team and the second time for Shearer.
This is the first time the Pilots have had three players earn All-WCC first team honors since the 1996-97 season. They are the only WCC team to have put three players on the first team.
Burnham averaged a team-high 17 points a game for the Pilots this year on 48.3% shooting, with her scoring average ranking second in the conference. She was second in the conference in both points per game and total points (526) and also led the conference in made free throws at 150, at total that is the fifth most by any Pilot in a single season. She scored at least 20 points 13 times this year, including a career-high 31 points against Washington State on Feb. 15. Her 13 games of 20 points or more ranks second in the conference as well.
Mark was a top all-around player in the conference, averaging 12.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per contest. She ranked second in the WCC in steals (67), third in steals per game and total rebounds (224), sixth in rebounds per game, eighth in total assists (109) and 10
th in assists per game (3.5). She is one of just two players in the country to average at least 12 points, seven rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals per game and also one of two to have posted at least 350 points, 200 rebounds, 100 assists and 60 steals. Her 224 rebounds were the most by a Pilot in a single season since the 2019-20 season.
Shearer rounds out the All-WCC honorees for the Pilots, earning her second straight All-WCC First Team appearance. She averaged 16.7 points per game, second on the team and fourth in the conference, along with 2.1 steals and four rebounds. She finished the regular season third in the WCC in total points (517) and also fourth in total steals (66) and steals per game. She is the first Pilot to have back-to-back seasons with at least 65 steals since 2004. Shearer sits fifth all-time in career points for Portland (1,604) and is also the career leader in games played (153) and started (130). She is fourth all-time for Portland in steals (284), sixth in minutes played (3,636), seventh in total field goals (582) and eighth in three-point field goals made (145).
The Pilots put together one of the best regular seasons in program history, posting a 28-3 overall record and a 17-3 record in WCC play. Their 28 wins are the most they've had in a single season as a Division I program and the second most ever for them all-time. Their 17 conference wins are a program record as well as their 15 home wins this season. They earned a share of the WCC Regular Season Title this season for the first time since 1997.
Portland's next stop is the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the Credit Union 1 WCC Championship. The Pilots hold a bye straight to the semifinals, with their first game coming on Monday, March 10 at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
