SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland redshirt freshman Kelson Gebbers was named to the WCC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Gebbers has a 3.58 cumulate grade-point average and is majoring in business.

The Brewster, Wash. native has earned Dean's List recognition all three of his semesters on The Bluff. On the court, Gebbers has appeared 19 games off the bench for the Pilots this season. He scored a season-high 10 points in a non-league win against Lafayette and is averaging 1.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in 9.8 minutes per game.

Gebbers and the Pilots are preparing for the Credit Union 1 WCC Championship scheduled for March 6-11 in Las Vegas. The Pilots secured the No. 8 seed with an opening round bye and will face No. 9 Pepperdine on Friday at 6 p.m. in the second round. The winner advancing to meet No. 5 Oregon State on Saturday.
