PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland picked up a big West Coast Conference victory with a 4-0 sweep of the Saint Mary's Gaels Sunday at Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.

The Pilots (8-9, 3-4 WCC) secured the doubles point with wins at the top two positions. Sally Pethybridge and Alaia Rubio Perez continued their excellent form with a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles to improve to 10-3 in dual matches. Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Nadine Arbaizar Martinez clinched with a comeback 7-5 win at No. 2 in a tiebreaker. Freshmen Isabella Marquart and Maria Galatescu were up 6-5 and a point away from winning at the No. 3 position.

Portland wasted little time in clinching the match with the top three singles players all winning in straight sets.

Pethybridge cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Juliette Daries and Dimitrijevic followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Olivia Rook at No. 3 singles. Rubio Perez clinched with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Iman Khan at the No. 2 position.

Portland will conclude the regular season Saturday at home against Gonzaga with a 10 a.m. start.
