Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland defeated Gonzaga by a 4-1 margin in a West Coast Conference women's tennis match Saturday at Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots honored Sally Pethybridge and Aleksandra Dimitrijevic prior to the match for Senior Day and then concluded the 2025 regular season on a winning note. Portland will now prepare for next week's WCC Championships in San Diego.

Pethybridge and doubles partner Alaia Rubio Perez defeated Emily Robertson and Ella Nielsen 6-1 at No. 1 doubles to open the day, but Gonzaga would go on to take the doubles point with wins at the other two positions.

The Pilots (9-9, 4-4 WCC) stormed back in the first wave of singles. Rubio Perez set the tone with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Norhan Hesham at No. 2. Dimitrijevic then knocked off Ella Nielsen 6-2, 7-5 at No. 3 and Pethybridge pulled out a thriller, defeating Emily Robertson 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 at the top of the lineup to make it 3-1 Portland.

Freshman Maria Galatescu provided the clinching point with a 6-0, 6-2 win versus Lia Espinal at the No. 6 position. The final two singles matches were abandoned in the third set following the clinch.

The Pilots will now prepare for next week's WCC Tennis Championships scheduled for April 24-26 at the Aztec Tennis Center at San Diego State University. Complete brackets and schedules will be announced on Sunday.
