SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland women's tennis seniors Aleksandra Dimitrijevic and Sally Pethybridge were named to the 2025 WCC Women's Tennis All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Wednesday. It marks the third consecutive year that Pethybridge and Dimitrijevic were named to the 12-player academic first team.
To qualify for WCC All-Academic Team honors, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to their team and in at least their second year at their school.
Pethybridge is a biology major with a 3.93 cumulative grade point average who anchored the top of Portland's lineup this season. An All-WCC Second Team selection in both singles and doubles, Pethybridge finished with six dual singles wins including a 4-3 mark against WCC opposition at the No. 1 position. She partnered in doubles with Alaia Rubio Perez Rubio and went 17-7 overall, 11-3 in dual matches and 4-1 against WCC competition.
Dimitrijevic has a 3.93 cumulative grade point average while majoring in finance. The Houston, Texas native picked up seven dual singles wins, including three against WCC opponents. She also played No. 2 doubles and finished with six dual doubles victories.
In addition to Pethybridge and Dimitrijevic, Alaia Rubio Perez garnered honorable mention all-academic recognition.
Portland will now focus on this week's
WCC Championships scheduled for April 24-26 at the Aztec Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. The Pilots are the No. 6 seed and take on No. 54 Washington State on Thursday at 10 a.m. The winner moves on to face San Diego in Friday's semifinals.
