LAST TIME OUT
• The Pilots are 14-18 after taking their third straight WCC series this past weekend, beating the Saint Mary's Gaels in two out of three games, and after beating the No. 15 Oregon Ducks at home.
• The Pilots are now 7-2 in WCC play, second in the WCC.
• Against the Ducks, the Pilots won with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. Tyler Howard was beaned with a pitch by Oregon that brought in the winning run.
• It's the third year in a row the Pilots have taken at least one game on the Ducks and the fourth time in five seasons they've done so. It was also their first ranked win of the year.
• The Pilots took the Gaels to extra innings in each of their first two games before falling in the series finale on Sunday. Portland has won all three of their extra-innings contests this season.
• Tyler Howard led the Pilots at the plate, batting .474 across four games and extending his on-base streak to 25 games, the longest by a Pilot since 2021.
• Zach Toglia and Jonas Salk each hit two home runs on the week, moving them to seven and six home runs on the season respectively. Salk became the first Pilot to hit multiple home runs in a game this season, doing so on Sunday.
• Toglia moved to fifth all-time for the Pilots in career home runs, now sitting at 27.
• The Pilots have won their last six WCC series dating back to last season.
Â
THE PERFECT GAME
• On Feb. 25 against the Seattle U Redhawks, Portland lefty Ryan Rembisz threw a perfect game, the first perfect game in program history.
• Rembisz went the full nine innings with no walks, runs or hits allowed, throwing 12 strikeouts in 90 pitches.
• The perfect game is the 37th in NCAA Division I history and just the 21st to happen in a nine-inning game. Prior to that game, Rembisz had never pitched more than 4.1 innings.
• Rembisz is the fourth player in Pilot history to throw a no-hitter, the first since 1958 and the only one to do so in nine innings.
• Rembisz earned WCC Player of the Week honors for his performance as well as NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week and Perfect Game Pitcher of the Week
