SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland pitcher Morgan Codron and second baseman Jonas Salk were named to the West Coast Conference Baseball All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Monday. The Pilots also had seven other players garner honorable mention recognition.
Codron has a 3.95 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while majoring in integrative health & wellness. The right-hander posted a 2-0 record on the season, including picking up the victory in relief of Saturday's regular season finale against Pacific. He has a 4.25 ERA in 13 total appearances in one start this year. Codron tossed 29.2 innings and struck out 27 hitters while limiting opponents to a .226 batting average.
Salk is majoring in operations and technology management with a 3.85 cumulative GPA and is making the WCC All-Academic First Team for the second straight year. He has started all 52 games this season and was second on the team with 18 extra base hits, 11 doubles and 32 RBI's. Salk's six home runs this year tied for third best on the roster, while he had a .700 OPS.
The Pilot baseball team collectively recorded better than a 3.55 combined team grade-point average for the 2025-26 academic year and more than 90 percent of the team has an individual cumulative GPA above 3.0.
Student-athletes must hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 and have competed in 50 percent of a team's contests to qualify for recognition. The student-athlete cannot be in their first year with the team – either via transfer or newcomer status – and must hold sophomore or higher athletic standing.
