PORTLAND, Ore. – For the fourth time this year after a stellar first season on The Bluff, Portland Pilots Baseball pitcher Will Labonte earned Freshman All-American honors, this time making the second team for D1Baseball. He is the first Pilot ever to earn four postseason All-American honors.
The honor from D1Baseball comes on top of the honors earned from various outlets. Labonte earned Freshman All-American honors the National College Baseball Writers Association, Perfect Game and Baseball America in June. He was an All-WCC Freshman Team and Second Team selection this season as well.
Labonte put together one of the best seasons from a Pilot freshman in recent history. He posted the best ERA for a freshman since Travis Radke in 2012 (2.82) and the most innings thrown by a freshman since 2017 (73.1). His ERA this season was fifth in the WCC, 38
th nationally and sixth nationally among all freshmen.
The Pilots finished the 2026 season at 27-25 overall, marking the fourth time in five seasons they've finished above .500 and that they've posted at least 25 wins or more.
