PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland men's basketball has added Timo George (Amsterdam, Netherlands/IMG Academy – Fla.) to the roster for the 2025-26 season, head coach Shantay Legans announced. George joins early signee Dante Censori-Hercules as the second incoming freshman for the Pilots.
George (6-8, 245) played prep basketball at the renowned IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. and has represented the Netherlands in international competition.
George helped the Netherlands Under-20 National Team to a fourth-place finish at the 2024 FIBA EuroBasket where he averaged 12.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. He shot 62 percent from the field and made 2-of-4 three-point attempts throughout the competition. He also represented the Netherlands at the U18 European Championships in 2023.
An athletic big man, the Pilots expect George to be able to guard multiple positions and be an inside-outside threat on offense. He also has the ability to create on offense and his versatility will be maximized in Coach Legans' offense.
George is the fourth signee announced so far this spring by Coach Legans joining Division I transfers
Matúš Hronský,
James O'Donnell and
Riley Parker.
Those newcomers will join returning lettermen Mikah Ballew, Kelson Gebbers and Jermaine Ballisager Webb and returning redshirts Carlin Briggs, NaVaughn Long and Preston Lee for the 2025-26 season.
