MOSCOW, Idaho. -- The Portland Pilots closed out the weekend with a straight-sets win (25-18, 25-22, 25-22) over Idaho on Saturday at Memorial Gym. With the victory, Portland swept all three opponents at the Vandal Invitational and improved to 3-0 on the season.
Elin Larsson paced the Pilots with 12 kills and a .333 hitting percentage to lead the offense, marking her third match-high performance of the weekend. On the defensive side, Jeryn Hildenbrand anchored the back row with a team-best nine digs.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots took control on the first point and never looked back to secure the first set 25-18. Portland led by as many as seven points at 24-17 before finishing off the set, collecting 16 kills in the process. Portland also supplemented their offense with four aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Portland carried momentum from a set-one win by securing a 25-22 victory in set number two. The Pilots grabbed the advantage for good at 21-20 in a set that showcased two lead changes before the Pilots took over in the second half of the stanza. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Idaho attacks in the set.
SET 3 | Portland closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking set three. The Pilots survived a back-and-forth set to win 25-22 in a set that featured nine lead changes and was tied 14 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than three points along the way. The Portland offense also got a boost from four aces in the set.
