HILLSBORO, Ore. – The Bridgetown Rivalry returns to the pitch, with Portland Pilots women's soccer taking on the Portland State Vikings this Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium. It's the first matchup between the two sides since 2017.

- Deuces are wild across the board for the Pilots, who are 2-2-2 through six games after battling the now-No. 3 UCLA Bruins to a loss and defeating the CSUN Matadors 1-0.
- Hailey Still opened her account this season with the game-winning goal over the Matadors. It's her eighth as a Pilot and third game-winner.
- Goalkeeper Sophia Hills posted her third shutout in goal for Portland along with three saves.
- The Pilots are currently second in the West Coast Conference in goals-against average (.667) and third in shutout percentage (.500) and total shutouts (three).
- Hills is second in the conference in both shutouts and shutout percentage while also ranking third in GAA and fourth in save percentage (.810).
- The Pilots are coming off a season that saw them finish 9-5-6 overall and 4-3-3 in WCC play. They've won at least nine games each of the last four years, marking the first time the Pilots have put together at least nine wins a season for four straight seasons since a stretch between 2010 and 2013.
- Last season, they were second in the WCC in goal differential (19), goals-against average (0.850) and shutout percentage (.400) while leading the conference in save percentage (.828).
- The Pilots were picked to finish sixth in the annual West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, with Keeley Dockter representing the Pilots on the All-WCC Preseason Team. This is Dockter's first time making it on the preseason squad.
- Jillian McBride is the lone returner for the Pilots to earn All-WCC honors last season, making the freshman team. She scored one goal and added two assists in her first year on The Bluff.
- The Pilots return 16 players from last year's squad while adding 11 newcomers.
- Among the key returners are forward Hailey Still and Hailey Bagby, who were second and third respectively on the team in total points. Still scored seven goals for 14 points while Bagby added four goals and four assists as a defender.
- Michelle French is in her eighth season as head coach of the Pilots. She's posted a 61-42-23 record overall and led the Pilots to their first postseason appearance in 2022 in nine years.
ABOUT THE VIKINGS
- The Portland State Vikings are 1-3-1 on the year with their most recent match coming against the CSUN Matadors, who they fell to 4-0.
- They finished last season at 4-9-5 and Big Sky play 2-3-3. They advanced to the semifinals of the Big Sky Tournament, but fell to the Idaho Vandals 2-1.
- This year, they were picked to finish eighth in the Big Sky in the annual 2025 Big Sky Coaches Poll and had two players named to the preseason all-conference team: Aliayah Saldana and Liv Frasier.
- Saldana, who leads the Vikings with a goal and an assist this year, scored three goals with two assists last season, starting all 18 matches. She was named the Big Sky Freshman of the Year in 2024 and made the All-Big Sky Second Team.
- Frazier started all 18 games last season and led the team in goals with five. She was also a second team All-Big Sky selection.
- Maureen Whitney is in her second season as head coach of the Vikings and her ninth overall with the Vikings.
