Still, Rademacher Score in 2-1 win Over Aggies

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots earned their third straight unbeaten result, taking down the Utah State Aggies 2-1 at Merlo Field. The win puts Portland at 3-2-3 on the season.
 
Hailey Still and Violet Rademacher scored the goals for Portland Saturday evening, the third and second goals of the year for those players respectively. Tonight's match closed out non-conference play for Portland.

How it Happened
 
Portland opened the scoring deep in the first half in 39th minute. Eli Rapp controlled the ball in the midfield and lifted it to Hailey Still, who dove forward to knock it in with the header. Portland led 1-0 at the half.
 
Hadli Barrera scored a goal in the 54th minute for Utah State to even things up at one a piece. The tie didn't last long, as the Pilots took advantage on the corner kick in the 62nd minute. Ruby Settle moved it to the end line to Jillian McBride, who found Violet Rademacher for the goal. The 2-1 score held the rest of the match.


 
Game Notes
  • Still's goal was her third of the season, a team high.
  • Rademacher's goal was her second on the year. She becomes the second Pilot to score multiple goals on the year along with Still.
  • Eli Rapp, Jillian McBride and Ruby Settle all recorded assists on the evening. It's the first assist of the year for all three players.
  • This is Portland's third straight unbeaten result.
  • The Pilots are now 1-1-1 against teams who qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season.
