MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Portland women's cross country team turned in a strong performance at the Mike Johnson Classic on Saturday, securing a third-place team finish against a 14-team field hosted by Western Oregon. The Pilots scored 97 points, placing just behind Chico State (47) and Alaska Anchorage (86).
Sophomore Lindsey Kaines led the charge, placing 10th overall in 21:25.50. She was joined in the top-25 by fellow PR-setters Megan Crum (23rd, 21:47.30) and Danica Allen (25th, 21:52.70). Close behind were Izzy Lochtefeld in 26th (21:54.60) and Clare Herring, who clocked a personal-best 22:02.10 for 31st to round out Portland's scoring five.
