STOCKTON, Calif. – The Portland Pilots are undefeated through two games in West Coast Conference play, earning a 1-0 win over the Pacific Tigers down in Stockton. The Pilots improve to 4-2-4 on the year and 1-0-1 in conference.
Hailey Bagby earned her second goal in as many games, knocking in the game-winner for the Pilots. Sophia Hills posted her fourth clean sheet of the year as well. The Pilots are now unbeaten through their last four matches.
How it Happened
The lone goal for the Pilots came in the 48
th minute. Hailey Bagby received the pass from Nevaeh Peregrina in the box, shielding off her defender. Bagby turned quickly and punched it into the goal for a 1-0 lead. Portland fended off the Pacific attack from there for the victory.
Game Notes
- Bagby's goal was her second of the year and her second in the last two games.
- Bagby is the third Pilot to have scored multiple goals on the season.
- Peregrina's assist was her first of the season.
- Sophia Hills posted her fourth clean sheet in goal for the Pilots. Hills added five saves as well.
- This is the eighth straight win for the Pilots over the Tigers, dating back to 2018.
- The Pilots are unbeaten in their last five games (3-0-2) and unbeaten in conference play.
