PORTLAND, Ore. – A late goal from Hailey Bagby helped the Portland Pilots earn their first point in conference play, with Portland tying the Pacific Tigers 1-1. The tie puts Portland at 4-6-1 on the year and 0-1-1 in WCC play.
Bagby's goal was her second of the year, assisted by Tayvi Khann and Christina Davenport. She's the third Pilot to earn multiple goals this season. Khann's three assists on the year leads the Pilots. This is the first tie for the Pilots this season.
How it Happened
Pacific struck first in the contest, with Kaya Rose scoring in the 19
th minute. Portland put a few shots towards goal, but still trailed 1-0 at the half.
Portland continued to push as they searched for the equalizer. That equalizer came late in the 85
th minute from Bagby. Davenport sent the ball in on a free kick that Khann corralled. Khann lifted it into the six-yard box and Bagby bolted into play and sent it into the goal. That goal preserved the point for the Pilots, giving them a 1-1 tie.
Game Notes
- Bagby's goal was her second of the year and the ninth of her career. She's one of three Pilots with multiple goals this season.
- Khann's assist was her third of the year and Davenport's assist was her first. Davenport's assist was the first of her career as well.
- Khann's three assists leads the Pilots this year. She's the first Pilot in two years to post three assists or more in a season.
- This is the ninth straight unbeaten result for Portland against the Tiger and the first draw.
- This is the first tie of the year for the Pilots.
