BEAVERTON, Ore. – Portland women's tennis earned their second consecutive 4-3 road win after defeating the Portland State Vikings Sunday at the Babette Horenstein Tennis Center.

Winning the doubles point once again made the difference as the Pilots picked up wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. Kylie Canubida and Meagan Pearson teamed for a 6-0 win at No. 3 and then Dariya Radulova and Lexie Flores providing the clinching point with a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 spot.

All six singles matches were settled in straight sets, but the outcome was undecided until late in the contest. Canubida doubled Portland's lead with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles, but the Vikings answered with wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions to tie the score.

Alaia Rubio Perez defeated Scarlett Perkins 6-3, 6-2 at the top of the lineup and then Meagan Pearson clinched the team win with a 6-2, 6-4 win against Anjola Ige at No. 5 singles. PSU picked up the final point with a win at the No. 2 spot.

Portland has now won consecutive road games to improve to 3-5 overall, all matches away from home. The Pilots will take an extended break before returning to action at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center for a pair of matches. Portland welcomes Montana on Sunday, March 15 at 10 a.m. and then Montana State on Tuesday, March 17 at 10 a.m.
