PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team outlasted the Seattle U Redhawks 4-2 Saturday in West Coast Conference action at Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots celebrated the team's four seniors prior to the start of the match as part of Senior Day.

Dariya Radulova, Kylie Canubida, Meagan Pearson and Alaia Rubio Perez were each honored and then helped the Pilots (10-9, 5-4) clinch fifth place in the WCC standings and a spot in next week's WCC Championships.

The senior doubles tandem of Canubida and Pearson set the tone of the match with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles. Rubio Perez and Maria Galatescu then clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at the No. 1 position.

The singles lineup was set up so all four seniors would play first with No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 making up the first wave. The Redhawks took wins at No. 1 and No. 5 to gain a temporary overall lead at 2-1 before the Pilots regained control.

Radulova picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win against Natalia Michta at the No. 2 position to even the score and then Canubida defeated Mina Yazadzhiev 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 for Portland's third point.

Nadine Arbaizar Martinez provided the match-clinching point in a thrilling 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory over Daria Nazarenko at the No. 3 position. Galatescu and Larissa Teramura were tied at a set apiece in the final match at No. 4 that went unfinished.

Portland clinched the No. 5 seed in the six-team 2026 WCC Championships which will be held at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Calif. April 23-25. Stay tuned to PortlandPilots.com for the official bracket release, schedule and live scoring and video links.
