ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Portland women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 shutout of the Utah Tech Trailblazers Sunday at Greater Zion Stadium. Xayla Black and Kyah Zurek each recorded their first career goals, while Violet Rademacher concluded the scoring for the Pilots (1-2).
How it Happened
Portland broke the 0-0 tie when Xayla Black scored her first goal of the season in the 15th minute. The Pilots connected three passes after a midfield interception and Black touch one touch from inside the right side of the box and clinically finished inside the left post to make it 1-0.
The Pilots tacked on another score on a goal from Kyah Zurek in the 36th minute. She took the ball down the right side and sent her attempt to the far post over the outreached glove of Utah Tech goalkeeper Elle Rafajko and into the left side netting.
Rademacher capped the scoring with a 50th-minute goal, her first of the season off a free kick. Tayvi Khann sent in a service that Rademacher headed just inside the right post to give the Pilots some insurance.

- Portland GK Sophia Hills totaled five saves for the Pilots to earn her first shutout of the season and 11th of her career.
- The Pilots totaled 11 shots with seven on goal overall.
