WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Goalkeeper Sophia Hills was stellar in goal, but the Pilots ultimately fell 2-0 to No. 5 Wake Forest. Portland falls to 1-3-0 on the year with the loss.
Hills posted a career-high seven saves while facing 16 shots from the Demon Deacons. Portland put two shots on goal in the contest.
How it Happened
The Pilots started off strong, putting together four shots in the first three minutes at blazing speeds. Portland fended off the Wake Forest attack, but the Deacons drew a penalty in the 41
st minute and scored from the spot to make it 1-0 Deacons heading into halftime.
The second half saw the Deacons continue to push, with Wake Forest scoring in the 73
rd minute to make it 2-0 Deacons. Portland could not close the gap.
