PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Pilot Volleyball ended their first week with a second victory against the Nevada Wolf Pack. The Pilots have two wins in the bag to start off the season after they swept Nevada in three sets (25-23, 25-18, 25-18). 

Game Notes 

• Pilots recorded their first sweep of the season 

• Taina Kaauwai climbed into Top 10 in program all time for blocks  

• Kala Chock tallied a match high of 13 kills 

• Portland finished with team highs of 45  kills, seven service aces and 42 digs 

• Havannah Hoeft helped Pilot attackers with a match high of 31 assists. Hoeft also had a team high of 13 digs, one dig short from her game high against San Diego in 2024 

• Jeryn Hildenbrand, Lillian Lansing and Tinoa Woodward-Hart all put down two service aces each 

How It Happened 

SET 1 | Hoeft had seven of 13 digs in first set with one service ace. Chock and Lansing both had four kills and Hoeft served longest point run of six. Portland takes first set 25-23 

SET 2 | Chock recorded six of 13 kills in set two. Portland had four of seven team service aces, Lansing with two. The Pilots finished this set with a point run of four, the second four-point-run of the set. Diehl-Palmer ended this set with two kills in a row, and the Pilots took the set 25-18 

SET 3 | Pilots locked in for a quick final set and secured a big lead to begin the final stanza. Woodward-Hart's service ace ended the match 25-18, giving Portland their first sweep of the year.
