Waves Defeat Pilots
PORTLAND, Ore. --- Junior outside hitter Autumn Wedan led the Pilots with eight kills in Thursday’s West Coast Conference match, but the Portland Pilots lost a 3-0 decision to the No. 23 Pepperdine Waves at the Chiles Center. The scores were 25-16, 25-17, 25-8.
Portland’s record moves to 6-16 overall while Pepperdine improves to 15-7 on the season. The Waves are now 4-4 in the challenging WCC. Portland is now 0-8 against conference foes.
Seniors Rachel Femling and Ariel Usher each recorded three blocks. With four kills on the night, Usher moved into a tie for seventh on UP’s all-time career kill leaders. She and Dawn Eudaly now have 1,043 career kills each.
Portland will host the Loyola Marymount Lions on Saturday at 1 p.m. as West Coast Conference play continues.
