UP Volleyball Opens 2012 Season at Utah State Invitational

2012 Preseason Prospectus
 
PORTLAND, Ore. --- The University of Portland Pilots volleyball team embarks on its first road trip of the 2012 season, opening the year at the Utah State Invitational Tournament beginning Friday. Portland’s faces the host Utah State Aggies in the first match of the year at 9:00 a.m. (PST) before taking on the Weber State in the afternoon at 3:30 p.m. (PST).
 
The tournament action continues on Saturday for the Pilots with another doubleheader. Portland battles with Southern Utah at 8:30 a.m. (PST) and then clashes with Utah for a 4:00 p.m. matinee.
 
Portland head coach Joe Houck returns 12 letterwinners this year in addition to adding three players to a squad that led the nation in sets per match last season (4.14).
