LOGAN, Utah --- Junior outside hitter Autumn Wedan and sophomore Sam Moore led the team in kills, but the Portland Pilots lost a 3-0 decision to the host Utah State Aggies Friday morning at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
 
Wedan posted nine kills on a .333 attacking percentage against the Aggies (1-0), which are one of the toughest teams at home in nation. Playing for the first time since the Pilots home match against BYU last season, Moore generated solid opportunities.
 
Senior outside hitter Ariel Usher added seven kills for Portland (1-0).
 
Setter Lexi Dempsey saw action in the first match of her freshman season, leading the Pilots with 14 assists while adding four digs.
 
Portland continues its stay at the Utah State Invitational with a 3:30 pm match against Weber State.
