ABOUT THE PILOTS
Â
· The Pilots (0-16) are staying put after hosting Gonzaga last Saturday in the only game of the week. The Pilots will look to claim their first win of the season against BYU and San Diego, who are both coming to town.Â
· In the matchup against the Bulldogs last Saturday, the Pilots looked to be well on their way to finding their first win of the season after jumping out to an early 2-0 set advantage. However, the Pilots watched their lead disappear as the Bulldogs came roaring back to take the next three sets and win the match. Senior outside hitter Autumn Wedan led the way for Portland with 18 kills and 12 digs, while sophomore Emily Liger added 15 kills on an attacking percentage of .429.
· After the loss, the Pilots are now 0-7 in conference play.
· Wedan has been a bright spot for the Pilots this year, as she continues to add onto her already magnificent senior campaign. She now has a total of 261 kills on the season, which is an average of 4.50 kills per set — a clip that is still good enough to rank her just outside the top-10 in the country.
· Wedan is also averaging 4.97 points per set, which ranks her near the top-20 in the nation.
· Sophomore Emily Liger and Lindburg have also been contributing to Portland's attack, as they have 148 and 138 kills on the season, respectively.
· Senior Setter Monica Jordan leads the team in assists with 573, while freshman Katie Mardesich is the team-leader in digs with 210.
Â
ABOUT THE COUGARS
Â
· BYU (14-3) currently sits atop the WCC with a perfect conference record of 7-0. They are in the midst of a 10-game winning streak, and have also emerged as victorious in 13 of their last 14 matches.
· They are also the No. 20 team in the country.
· Their most recent match was at home against San Francisco where they claimed a 3-0 lead over the Dons. Tambre Haddock led the way for the Cougars with a double-double of 16 kills and 15 digs, while Alexa Gray chipped in with 15 kills of her own. The Cougars hit .274 as a team while holding San Francisco to a lowly .132.
· Gray and Haddock have been leading the Cougars' attack all season, as they have 251 and 236 kills on the season, respectively. Gray is striking the ball with incredible accuracy as well, as she is converting .310 percent of her attacks.
· The team's setter is Camry Godfrey with 723 on the season, while Ciara Parker is the team-leader in digs with 236.
· Head coach Shawn Olmstead is in his fourth year with the team, and owns an overall record of 63-16.
· The last time the Cougars faced the Pilots was in 2012 when they took down Portland 3-0 at the Chiles Center.

ABOUT THE TOREROS
Â
· San Diego (13-3) has also been playing well as of late, and is currently riding a four-game winning streak heading into this week's action. They are also a perfect 10-0 in their last 10 sets, dating back to their fifth set win over Loyola Marymount on Oct. 3.
· They are also the No. 13 team in the country.
· Their most recent match was a clean 3-0 sweep against Santa Clara. Chloe Ferrari led the way for the Toreros with 11 kills and an attacking percentage of .625. Taylor Hollins also added 10 kills and eight digs en route to the victory.
· San Diego has an extremely balanced attack, as five players have gathered at least 160 kills on the season — Sandra Lozic (179), Alaysia Brown (172), Ferrari (165), Katie Hoekman (163) and Hollins (162).
· Ferrari's hitting percentage of .427 is also good enough for the 15th-highest clip in the nation.
· Jianna Bonomi is the team's leading setter with 441, and Oliveira C'era has a team-high 272 digs on the season.
· Head coach Jennifer Petrie is in her 13th season at San Diego and owns an overall record of 268-97.
· The last time San Diego faced Portland resulted in a 3-1 win for the Toreros in Portland in 2012.Â
