San Francisco, Calif. -- The San Francisco Dons volleyball team took care of business and beat the Portland Pilots in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at the War Memorial Gym. Senior outside hitter Autumn Wedan led the way for the Pilots with 11 kills and seven digs in the loss.

The scores of the match were 25-19 across the board.

The Dons (7-8) are now 3-2 in Western Coast Conference play. Malina Terrell had team-high 14 kills while hitting an incredible .560.

The Pilots (0-15) are now 0-6 in WCC play. Makayla Lindburg also had a solid performance with eight kills and seven digs, and had a respectable hitting percentage of .200.

The Dons started off hot and took an 18-9 lead to start the game, then cruised to a 25-19 win to claim the first set.

It was the same in the second set with Portland down 19-16, but the Pilots weren't able to complete the comeback and even the match at one.

In the third set, the Pilots were within three with the score at 20-17, but the Dons were able to rattle off a 5-2 run to take the third and final set.

The difference in the game was the Pilots' hitting percentage of .167 to Dons' .363.

The Pilots will return home next week in search of their first win of the season and will take on Gonzaga on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm (PST) at the Chiles Center.Â
