Box Score Pilots Conclude UNLV Invitational, Wedan Earns All-Tourney Honors

LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- The Portland Pilots concluded the 2013 UNLV Invitational with a 3-0 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Saturday night at Cox Pavilion. Senior outside hitter Autumn Wedan finished with 14 kills in the match and earned all-tournament honors after racking up 60 total kills in the three matches.

Despite Portland holding leads late in the first two sets, the Titans prevailed and won 25-20, 25-21 and 25-20 to nab their first win of the season. The Pilots fall to 0-3 on the year. 

Wedan once again paced UP with 14 kills, while Emily Liger chipped in nine kills.

The Pilots will return to Portland to host the Nike Invitational next weekend at the Chiles Center. Portland opens Friday at 12:30 p.m. versus Fresno State and then will host Wichita State that night at 7:30 p.m. The Pilots will conclude the tournament on Saturday at 7 p.m. versus Utah State.
