SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Portland junior midfielder Parkes Kendrick landed on the 2015 West Coast Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic Team for the second straight year, and she's one of six Pilots total to earn all-academic accolades. Kendrick was also named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Second Team a week ago.
Â
A Portland native who attended Grant High School, Kendrick has a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA in three-plus years on The Bluff. She's currently working towards a degree in mathematics, while also earning a minor in French. This season Kendrick has a goal and two assists and she has five goals and seven assists in 58 career games.
Â
Receiving all-academic honorable mention for Portland are seniors Haylee DeGrood and Noelle La Prevotte and juniors Ellie Boon, Alyssa Edenstrom and Ariel Viera. DeGrood nabs her third straight all-academic honorable mention recognition, while it's the second consecutive year earning that distinction for Boon. This is the first conference all-academic honor for Edenstrom, La Prevotte and Viera.
Â
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
