THIS WEEK
• The Pilots will start the second half of the West Coast Conference schedule by heading to the Bay Area to face Santa Clara and San Francisco.
• The Pilots will first take on Santa Clara Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Leavey Center.
• Portland will then head to San Francisco to play the Dons Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at War Memorial Gym.

LAST WEEK
• The Pilots made the trip up to Spokane, Wash., to take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs, where the Zags defended their home court in three sets.
• Troutman and Pukis led the Pilots with 13 and 12 kills on the afternoon. Monica Gajda and Morgan Robinson had 16 and 13 digs, while Thompson recorded 36 assists on the match.

About the Pilots
• The Pilots are currently 16th in the nation and first in the WCC in aces per set (1.70). They also rank 21st nationally and first in conference in total aces (138).
• Junior transfer Hannah Troutman is one of several Pilots among the league's statistical rankings, ranking first in the league for total points (351.0), is second in total kills (306), total attacks (874), and attacks per set (10.79), is third in points per set (4.33), and ranks fourth in kills per set (3.78).
• Freshman Cali Thompson is first in the WCC in total assists (787), and is second in service aces (28), assists per set (9.72) and aces per set (.35). Only in her first year on The Bluff, Thompson is already making strides by ranking fifth in Pilot history in assists per set (9.72).
• Senior Katie Sullivan is fifth in the league for total blocks (87). She also ranks fourth all-time at UP in blocks per set (.94) and block assists (301), and is fifth in total blocks (336).
• Opening the 2016 season, the Pilots defeated all three tournament host teams they faced, and outright won the Maroon Classic (Sept. 16-17) in Starkville, Miss. At the Bulldog Showdown (Sept. 2-3) Thompson, Mandon, and Sullivan received All-Tournament honors at the Maroon Classic, and Gajda was named Best Libero.
• On one of the Pilots' first road trips of conference, they defeated the Pepperdine Waves in Malibu for the second time ever.
• Head coach Brent Crouch is in his third year at the helm, joined by first-year assistant coaches Jeff Baxter and Betsy Sedlak. Rick Moller also joined the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant.
• Last year was historic for the program as the Pilots claimed several impressive accomplishments, including the best ever start to a season (10-1).
• 2015 also marked the most homes wins (10) in program history since competing at the NCAA D1 level, and the Pilots swept then-No. 23 San Diego for their first ever program victory over a ranked team.
• Current junior Brittney Markwith recorded the second most blocks in a season in program history in 2015 with a total of 119. She also ranks fifth all time at Portland in block assists (300), is seventh in total blocks (323), and is ninth in blocks per set (.81).

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
• Santa Clara was swept in both matches last weekend against Pacific and Saint Mary's.
• The Broncos are led by seniors Nikki Hess and Sabrina Clayton with 274 and 234 kills, respectively. Junior Jensen Cunningham (199) and sophomore Hailey Lindberg (162) also have triple digit kills on the season.
• Cunningham and Lindberg lead the Bronco defense in blocks with 76 and 74, respectively. Redshirt freshman Taylor Odom also has 74 blocks on the season.
• Head coach Jon Wallace is in his 18th year and has led the Broncos to 13 NCAA Tournaments. Under his instruction, Santa Clara has annually been a top-25 team.
• San Francisco was also swept last weekend by both Pacific and Saint Mary's. USF is still looking for its first conference win.
• The Dons are led by freshman Tyna Adamcikova and senior Emily Reed who have 266 and 225 kills, respectively. Freshman Kate Ashman is also in the triple digits for kills with 127.
• Vitoria Brown is in her first year as head coach.

TERRIFIC SEASON FOR TROUTMAN
• Junior Hannah Troutman, who is in her second season with the Pilots after coming north from Oregon State, received WCC Player of the Week Honors for the week of October 18th, following the upset victory over No. 11 BYU. The junior averaged 4.00 kills, 3.38 digs and 4.38 point per set against a pair of top-15 opponents.
• She also earned All-Tournament Honors at the Bulldog Showdown (Sept. 2-3) and landed tourney MVP at the Maroon Classic.
• She ranks first in league for total points (351.0), second in total kills (306), total attacks (874), and attacks per set (10.79), third in points per set (4.33), and fourth in kills per set (3.78).
• Troutman is also already leaving her mark in the program's record books. She currently ranks sixth all time in kills per set (3.39), seventh in digs per set (3.20), and ninth in points per set (3.91).
