EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 11 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets swept the Portland Pilots 7-0 in women's tennis action Saturday evening at the Student Tennis Center on the University of Oregon campus.
The Pilots battled with sophomore Radina Dimitrova dropping a close three-setter at No. 2 singles, while freshman Jelena Lukic pushed No. 42-ranked Rasheeda McAdoo in a 6-4, 6-4 decision at the No. 1 position.
The Yellow Jackets (1-0) opened the scoring by sweeping the doubles point and then took five of the six singles matches in straight sets.
Portland will return home next weekend to host Eastern Washington on Friday at 10 a.m. and then Portland State on Saturday at 10 a.m. Both matches will have live stats and live video available at PortlandPilots.com.
