SEATTLE, Wash. – Portland freshman Jelena Lukic posted an impressive straight sets win at No. 2 singles, but the Pilots dropped a 6-1 decision to the Washington Huskies Saturday afternoon at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Huskies improved to 5-0 on the year, while the Pilots fell to 1-3.

Lukic, playing in just her third match of the season after enrolling earlier this month with the Pilots, knocked off Washington junior Miki Kobayashi 7-6, 6-4.

Lukic and doubles partner Jelena Lazarevic were also leading 5-2 at No. 1 doubles when the Huskies secured the doubles point and ended.

Washington cruised at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the early lead and then won the other five singles matches in straight sets.

The Pilots will return home and next host the Idaho Vandals on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. All home matches will have live stats and live video courtesy of PortlandPilots.com.
