• The Pilots will remain home this weekend to face Santa Clara on Thursday night and San Francisco on Saturday afternoon in the Chiles Center.

LAST WEEK
• The Pilots hosted Gonzaga in the Chiles Center for their annual Dig Pink Match. Portland came out strong in the first set topping the Bulldogs 25-11, but the Zags fought back to take the Pilots though five sets and complete the comeback, escaping the Chiles Center with a 3-2 win.Â
• The Pilots raised over raised over $2,000 for the Side-Out Foundation which donates the proceeds for Breast Cancer Awareness.Â
• Senior Hannah Troutman and sophomore Cali Thompson each recorded a double-double in the match. Troutman with 17 kills and 18 digs and Thompson with 46 assists and 10 digs. Troutman's double-double also broke the 1000 kills and digs mark. The Pilot is only the fourth in program history to accomplish the feat.Â

ABOUT THE PILOTS
• The program welcomed six true freshmen to The Bluff as one of the top Portland recruiting classes in Pilot history. The newcomers ranked in the top-55 nationally and top-three in the West Coast Conference. Liz Reich and Kassidy Naone hold All-American honors from several publications, while Carey Williams was named to the Defensive Dandy Third-Team.
• The Pilots were picked to place third in conference going into preseason, marking the highest ever vote for the program in the Preseason Poll. Troutman was also named to the All-WCC Preseason team.Â
• Portland claimed the Rumble in the Rockies tournament title to start the 2017 season and were also named the Champions of the Lobo Classic.
• Five different Pilots have earned All-Tournament Honors in their preseason tournaments; Reghan Pukis, Katie Barker, Carey Williams, Cali Thompson, and Hannah Troutman. Thompson was also awarded Most Outstanding setter at the Lobo Classic and Troutman was named tournament MVP to start the season at the Rumble in the Rockies.
• Troutman currently leads the WCC in attacks per set (12.49) and total attacks (1,012). She ranks second in conference in kills per set (4.00), points per set (4.44), and total kills (324). Nationally, the Pilot also sits at 10th in the nation in attacks per set.Â
• Thompson is second in league in aces per set (.33) and total assists (834). She is also third in assists per set (10.30) and service aces (27).Â

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
• Santa Clara split the previous weekend in the Leavey Center, falling to Pacific on Thursday night 3-1 and bouncing back to overcome Saint Mary's 3-2. The Broncos are led by Sophomore Michelle Gajdka and Senior Jensen Cunningham who have 269 and 262 kills on the year, respectively. Senior Kristen Mead ranks second in assists per set (10.62) and second in total service aces (28). The team ranks second in conference in team digs (1,319) and team kills (1,106).Â
• San Francisco also faced Pacific and Saint Mary's last week, falling to both teams 3-0. The Dons are led by Erica Ronda and Carly Lowry with 232 and 196 kills, respectively. Ronda is third in league in attacks per set (10.59) and fourth in total attacks (858). On defense Marjolijn Oskam and Laura Leap drive USF's defense with 79 and 63 blocks.Â
