THIS WEEKÂ
• The Pilots head south to Malibu and Los Angeles take on Pepperdine and LMU.Â
• The Pilots picked up their second straight win in Malibu last season, topping the Waves in a dramatic comeback to win 3-2. Â
• Portland has won the last four meetings with Pepperdine, most recently completing another impressive comeback over the Waves to win 3-2 in the Chiles Center earlier this year.Â
• LMU has a 13 match win streak over the Pilots and Portland has not won in Los Angeles since 1989.Â

LAST WEEK
• The Pilots welcomed Santa Clara and San Francisco to the Chiles Center.Â
• The Broncos topped the Pilots in three sets on Thursday night before Portland bounced back to win four sets over the Dons on Saturday afternoon.Â
• The win marked the fourth straight over the Dons.
• Portland was led by seniors Hannah Troutman and Sarah Savoca, and junior Reghan Pukis who each had double-digit kills.
• Troutman recorded her 12th double-double of the season against USF.

ABOUT THE PILOTS
• The program welcomed six true freshmen to The Bluff as one of the top Portland recruiting classes in Pilot history. The newcomers ranked in the top-55 nationally and top-three in the West Coast Conference. Liz Reich and Kassidy Naone hold All-American honors from several publications, while Carey Williams was named to the Defensive Dandy Third-Team.
• The Pilots were picked to place third in conference going into preseason, marking the highest ever vote for the program in the Preseason Poll. Troutman was also named to the All-WCC Preseason team.Â
• Portland claimed the Rumble in the Rockies tournament title to start the 2017 season and the Pilots were also named the Champions of the Lobo Classic.
• Five different Pilots have earned All-Tournament Honors in their preseason tournaments; Reghan Pukis, Katie Barker, Carey Williams, Cali Thompson, and Hannah Troutman. Thompson was also awarded Most Outstanding setter at the Lobo Classic and Troutman was named tournament MVP to start the season at the Rumble in the Rockies.
• Troutman currently leads the WCC in attacks per set (12.68) and total attacks (1,116). She ranks second in conference in kills per set (4.16), points per set (4.59), and total kills (366). Nationally, the Pilot sits at 11th in the nation in attacks per set and 16th in total attacks.Â
• Thompson is second in league in total assists (912) and third in assists per set (10.36).

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
• LMU leads the conference as a team in aces per set (1.72) and ranks nationally in the category at No. 9.
• The Lions have two players that make the top-15 in league in blocks per set, sophomore Emma Johnson (1.01) and freshman Alexis Morrow (.96).
• The Lions come off of a tough two-loss road weekend at Pacific and Saint Mary's. The Tigers swept LMU on Thursday night and the Gaels also prevailed over the Lions on Saturday afternoon in Moraga.Â
• Junior Sara Kovac and sophomore Megan Rice lead LMU on offense with 265 and 243 kills, respectively.Â
• Pepperdine leads the league in seven categories; digs per set (16.11), team assists (1,220), team attacks per set (37.95), team digs (1.547), team kills (1,291), team total attacks (3, 643), and team total blocks (257.0). Nationally, the team also ranks 12th in the nation in total blocks.Â
• Sophomore Jasmine Gross sits at third in the nation in total blocks (147) and 10th blocks per set (1.53) for the Waves.
• Named as the WCC player of the week of September 18th, Gross is also second on the team in kills with 286. Sophomore Hannah Frohling leads the Waves on offense with 341 kills.Â
• Pepperdine also faced Pacific and Saint Mary's this past weekend. The Waves swept Saint Mary's Thursday night in Moraga, before traveling to Stockton where the Tigers topped the Waves 3-1.
