PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team picked up its second straight victory with a 5-2 win over UC Irvine Sunday at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots improve to 3-5 on the season, while the Anteaters drop to 0-7 overall.

Portland started strong by sweeping all three doubles matches as Anna Oberg and Kara Okazaki posted the first victory at No. 3 doubles by a 6-4 margin. The No. 2 doubles tandem of Tatiana Grigoryan and Emily Soares then clinched the point with a 6-3 win, followed closely by a victory at No. 1 by Jelena Lazarevic and Jelena Lukic.

The Pilots then took a 2-0 lead as Lukic cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles over Constance Branstine. Grigoryan won next at No. 3, knocking off Stephanie Nguyen 6-3, 6-2. Lazarevic clinched the match with a come-from-behind 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 decision against Vivien Dvali at the No. 2 spot.

Soares recorded the Pilots final point at No. 4 singles in straight sets over Cassidy Branstine.

The Anteaters took the final two points as Ashlynn Hall and Jacqueline Tsodikova recorded straight set wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions, respectively.

Portland will return to action on Saturday, March 4 at San Jose State with a 1:30 p.m. match. The Pilots will stay in San Jose and face Cal Poly on Sunday, March 5 at 1 p.m.
