PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland men's soccer program is adding Michael Barrow, a defender who is coming to The Bluff from Campbell University, announced head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt. Barrow will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Pilots
Â
"We are excited to add Mikey to our Portland soccer family," said Carlin-Voigt. "He has important experience at the Nike Academy and also in college, and he will add experience and quality to our core of defenders. Mikey is an athletic center back who loves to defend and win his individual challenges, while having the composure to start the attack. We look forward to helping him reach his full potential here in Soccer City USA."
Â
With the Camels, Barrow started all 21 games as a sophomore last fall, helping Campbell win the Big South Championship and advance to the NCAA playoffs. He landed on the All-Big South Conference First Team, and he finished the fall with two goals and an assist. A native of Liverpool, England, Barrow helped the Camels record five shutouts.
Barrow joins a recruiting class that already includes Noah Beck, Yusuf Cueceoglu, Michael Hamilton, and Delentz Pierre.
