PORTLAND, Ore. --- Kevin Ogudugu, a forward who currently plays for Valerenga 2 in Norway, has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the University of Portland men's soccer program, and he will join the Pilots as a freshman.
Â
"Kevin is a dynamic player who can play anywhere along the front line," Portland head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt said. "He had a lot of interest around the country but loved our vision for the program and soccer culture here in Portland. He has the pace, power and quickness to stretch the game and really run behind the backline as a central forward, while also the versatility to cause problems running with and without the ball from wide positions. We think our supporters will be excited to watch Kevin develop as he fits into our blueprint of signing attackers who are entertaining to watch as they bring electric energy to Merlo Field."
Â
Ogudugu holds dual citizenship with Norway and Nigeria, and he's been called into the Nigerian U20 National Team Camp. Valerenga 2 plays in the third division in Norway, and Ogudugu has been rostered with the first team for top division games.
Â
Ogudugu joins a recruiting class that already includes Michael Barrow, Noah Beck, Yusuf Cueceoglu, Michael Hamilton, and Delentz Pierre.
