PORTLAND, Ore. – University of Portland men's tennis has added Cal Poly transfer Dustin Kua to the roster for the 2019-20 season, head coach Aaron Gross announced. Kua will join the Pilots as a sophomore in the fall with three years of eligibility remaining.
A 2018 four-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net, Kua collected a pair of doubles wins last fall with the Mustangs, but did not play during the spring dual season. A prep standout at Trinity Classical Academy in Santa Clarita, Calif., Kua reached the CIF-Southern Section Round of 16 three years in a row in singles.
"We are very fortunate to have this one final late addition to the squad," Gross said. "Dustin has a ton of experience from his days in the Southern California section. I think he is going to be a great fit here at University of Portland. We are starting to get a pretty nice California niche on the team. He is incredibly motivated to come in and contribute. This is a great addition to our squad both on and off the court."
