PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland outfielder Jake Holcroft, who ranks fourth nationally with a .535 batting average, is the Rawlings West Coast Conference Player of the Week after helping the Pilots sweep a four-game series against Stephen F. Austin. Holcroft, a redshirt-freshman, had a torrid weekend at the plate, going 11-for-16 (.688) against the Lumberjacks at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex in Ridgefield, Wash.

Holcroft also produced two doubles, a homer, four RBI's, and seven runs scored. During the opener on Friday he was 3-for-4 with a run in the 3-2 win, and on Saturday he was even better, going 4-for-5 as the Pilots rallied for an 8-7 victory in the first game of a double header. During that comeback win, he also belted a solo home run and scored three times. In game two, another Portland win, he was 2-for-3 with a double, and he tallied two more hits, another double, and two more runs in Sunday's 17-1 finale.
Â
This is the second weekly conference honor for the Pilots this year as pitcher Christian Peters nabbed the award during the first week of the season.

At 10-1 the Pilots are off to their best start since 2010.
