Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. – Sema Pankin had his run at the ITA Northwest Super Regionals came to an end in the semifinals Sunday at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center. Pankin knocked off three quality opponents to reach the semifinals, but came up short to No. 3-seed and 72nd-ranked Clement Chidekh of host Washington by a 6-4, 6-4 margin.

Pankin, the No. 6 seed in the singles draw, pulled out the 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Stanford's nationally-ranked Alexandre Rotsaert in the quarterfinals and also defeated James Watt (Saint Mary's) and Matthew Hollingworth (Gonzaga) in the singles draw.

"Sema played a very good match today," Portland head coach Aaron Gross said. "I think his opponent, based on his summer results and his semifinals showings at the ITA All-American Championships, is probably a top five player in college tennis. Sema had to raise his level and he did. He needed a couple big points to bounce his way, but his opponent came up with the goods. Overall it was an excellent weekend for Sema and several of our guys. We are looking forward to two more strong events in the next three weeks to finish the fall strong.

The Pilots will compete in two locations next weekend as some members of the squad will head to the Southern California Intercollegiates, while the rest travel to Spokane, Wash. for the Gonzaga Invitational. Portland's fall campaign concludes at the Oregon Duck Invitational on Nov. 12-14.
