VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Portland rowing team was in action on its home course of Vancouver Lake on Sunday morning as host of the Portland Fall Classic. The event was a 5K time-trial style race organized by Station L Rowing Club and Rose City Rowing Club. Portland entered two varsity eights and two varsity fours.

In the Women's Collegiate Division 1 Varsity 8 event, Portland's bow #12 boat with coxswain Sophie Osborn crossed in a time of 19:04.25. The second Pilot boat posted a time of 19:18.81 with Sage Iona was the Coxswain.

Portland competed against boats from Lewis & Clark and Oregon in the Women's Collegiate 4 race. With Sage Iona on cox in Boat A, the Pilots cruised to a victory in a time of 21:40. Portland's second boat with Abbey McHugh as the coxswain recorded a time of 22:51.98.

The Pilots will next hit the water at the Head of the Lake hosted at Lake Union in Seattle, Wash. on Sunday, Nov. 7.
