SAN BRUNO, Calif. – For the first time this season, Haylee Andrews has been named the WCC Player of the Week after her stellar performance against Stephen F. Austin on Dec. 14. She is the third Pilot to win the award, making Portland the only WCC team to have three different players garner WCC Player of the Week honors.
Andrews earned the recognition after stuffing the stat sheet against the Ladyjacks with 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. It's the closest that Andrews has gotten to a triple-double in her career and marks the 11
th double-double of her career. She was one of only two WCC players to earn a double-double last week.
The Townsville, Australia native has continued to be one of the best guards in the conference so far this year. She is averaging 12.3 points per game along with 5.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds. She is currently first in the WCC in both total assists (65) and assists per game, and is in the top 15 nationally in those respective categories. Andrews was named to the All-WCC Preseason squad for this year and was named to the All-WCC First Team for last season.
